Compare financial scenarios

Keep a baseline forecast. In a scenario, change sales, a hiring date or an investment, then compare net profit and cash flow over the same period.

  • Each scenario keeps its own settings.
  • Charts show the baseline and scenario month by month.
  • Saved scenarios are included in exports.

Try the comparison shown here: the amounts are calculated by open-bp’s engine.

Set monthly changes in sales and expenses

Set a gradual increase towards a target volume, then add exceptions for specific months. You can plan higher summer sales, change a price on a specific date or add a one-off expense.

Edit assumptions and write your plan using chat

Ask chat to add an activity, edit an expense, move a hiring date or prepare a scenario. It proposes changes in the plan and asks for clarification if your instruction cannot be applied exactly.

  • Write or rephrase sections of your business plan.
  • Review proposals, undo a change and save your version.
  • Connect a compatible assistant, such as Claude or ChatGPT, using your account permissions.

AI features are optional and subject to subscription quotas. Missing data still needs to be completed.

Document assumptions and check the plan

For each assumption, record its source: a quote, draft lease, supplier price list or estimate. Add a note explaining the amount used and what needs checking.

  • Sources and notes are included with the plan.
  • The review flags missing assumptions and text that needs completing.
  • Financial checks identify inconsistencies and blocking issues.

Automatic checks do not replace rereading the project, sources and applicable rules.

Example roles for a shared plan

Choose a format for your business plan

Exports use the saved version of the project. Share the business plan with your adviser, prepare a presentation or retrieve tables for your own tools.

PowerPoint retains the saved text and presents the main annual results, scenarios, sources and items to check. Detailed monthly tables and calculation settings are available in the complete business plan and data exports.

CSV files are delivered in a ZIP archive, with one file per workbook sheet. UTF-8 encoding, semicolon separator and decimal point. Text that could be interpreted as a formula is prefixed with an apostrophe.

The Excel workbook contains total and validation formulas. CSV and OpenDocument spreadsheets contain calculated values only. Use open-bp to recalculate the full forecast after changing assumptions.

All export formats are included from the Essentiel plan. Save your changes and review assumptions, sources and incomplete items before sending the business plan.

Questions about features and subscriptions

Do I need spreadsheet skills?

Enter your assumptions in the app; the engine produces the tables. You still need to understand sales, expenses and payment terms to review the forecast.

Is AI required?

No. You can choose a template, edit assumptions and write the plan without using AI features.

Does every plan include all features?

Paid subscriptions share the same financial calculations and checks. Project capacity, scenarios, exports, collaboration access and AI quotas depend on the plan. See pricing for details.

Can I go back to an earlier version?

Yes. The history lets you view saved versions and restore one. Restoring creates a new version without deleting earlier ones.
