# Consulting: compare 12 and 10 billable days with an AI assistant

A reproducible fictional example: assumptions, calculated results and MCP calls to compare profit and cash for a consulting business.

A consulting business bills 12 days per month at €650 excluding VAT. How does its forecast change if it bills only 10? open-bp, published by incwo, calculates both assumptions using the same engine as the application.

Fictional educational example. The results are calculated by the open-bp engine; this page does not report a customer testimonial or a test performed in ChatGPT, Claude or another assistant.

Fictional example from Jan 2027 to Dec 2027. The results below cover the first twelve months.
These figures are fictional: they describe neither a real business, market prices nor expected profitability. Replace them with your quotes, prices and schedule.

- Manager: 1 person(s), €2,500 gross per month per person, employer contributions 45%, starting in month 1.
- Equipment: €2,500 excluding VAT. Equity contribution: €10,000. Loan: €0.

Alternative: bill 10 consulting days per month instead of 12, at the same price. Expenses, pay and financing remain unchanged.

Cash difference at the end of the first year, alternative minus reference: -€15,067.
Fewer billable days reduce sales and proportional direct costs. Fixed expenses and remuneration remain payable. The cash difference also depends on VAT, payment terms and tax; it cannot be inferred from revenue alone.
Net profit measures profit or loss. Cash also depends on payment terms, VAT, capital expenditure, inventory and financing. A loan provides cash without generating revenue.

## Reproduce the comparison with an assistant

To reproduce the MCP calls, connect a compatible client to the open-bp server with read permission. The template_prepare and project_calculate tools do not create or save a project. Connection availability depends on the client and its access conditions.

1. Call template_prepare with templateId=conseil and setup.mode=example. Keep the returned fictional assumptions and start date; check the template version before comparing results.
2. Calculate the baseline draft with project_calculate: 12 days per month at €650 excluding VAT. The complete parameters below include expenses, remuneration, financing and the required conventions.
3. Duplicate this draft, change only the quantity of the consulting line to the string 10, then call project_calculate. Keep the price, proportional direct costs, fixed expenses and all other assumptions unchanged.
4. Compare annualRevenue, annualProfit and month 12 cash in the forecast responses. API amounts remain in euros with two decimal places separated by a point; the table rounds amounts to the nearest euro.

Using open-bp, prepare a fictional example from the conseil template without creating a project. Calculate a baseline of 12 billable days per month and a variant of 10 days, at €650 excluding VAT per day. Keep all other assumptions unchanged.
